The ethernet services Units are used in conjunction with the nortel Metro Module 8668 for the Metro Routing switch 8600 to provide 50 millisecond restoration time with the highest levels of scalability as well as the ability to map individual customer Vlans to separate customer VPnsThe Metro Module 8668 provides the key User/network Interface (UnI) functions such as end-to-end management and performance monitoring while the Metro Ethernet Services Units themselves offer a cost-effective and flexible set of service port functions.
